The Bible begins with God creating the universe and all things in it. Then in Genesis 1:1-2 says the Spirit of God was over the waters. The kanji character for spirit is very interesting and even agrees with the bible’s teaching on the trinity, one God in three persons.
The bible records that God created the universe and all life in a six day period. There is controversy about if the word ‘day’ in the bible refers to a literal 24 hours or an undefined period of time (see how the word ‘day’ is used in Genesis 2:4), but that is a discussion for another time. The main point is that God created it all in a ‘six day time period’ speaking it into existence by the power of his word. Then Genesis 2:7 says that God made man from the dust of the ground and breathed life into him.
God created man with the ability to talk and walk.
Adam was the first man in human history created alive from the dust of the ground.
God took the first man and put him in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 2:15). There was no sin or shame in all of Eden and the man’s fellowship with God brought him happiness.
Remember from part two of Genesis Revealed in Kanji that all people migrated out from Babylon (modern day Iraq) after God scattered mankind from the Tower of Babel (Genesis 11:9), the first man in the garden of Eden enclosure would have been west from China.
God’s creation was very good (Genesis 1:31), the only thing God said was not good was for the man to be alone (Genesis 2:18). In the Garden west of China, the man needed a woman!
So the Lord caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and while he sleep took one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh (Genesis 2:21). According to ‘The Discovery of Genesis’ by Kang and Nelson, the radical to enter or go inside 入 appears to be halfway entering through the incision, as if God’s hand were going inside Adam’s chest in order to remove the woman, here pictured as another person. The first marriage in all of creation (Genesis 2:24-25) was a glorious event between the first man and the first woman. From the first two people came the beginning and origins of mankind.
‘The Discovery of Genesis’ summarizes the end of the Genesis creation story well, God at this point in time had finished His work of creation (Genesis 2:1)… With the foundation of the first home, therefore, the human family was begun, and the purpose of creation had been completed, and thus memorialized in the first marriage. Everything upon the earth had been formed for the ultimate joy and benefit of its human occupants. (page 49)
