Several years ago I did a six part series on kanji (Chinese) characters that tell the first eight chapters of the bible in the book of Genesis. It was a fun study, but I had only scratched the surface on this very interesting subject.
Recently I learned of a book written by Timothy Boyle called “Bible Stories Hidden In Chinese Characters” from the RJC Network which seeks to provide resources and develop partnerships that result in better helping Japanese know Christ. From them I learned that Timothy’s book had recently been put in digital format free to anyone who would like a copy. Below is a sample of the first few chapters.
Timothy gives explanation of over two hundred kanji even showing examples of how they first appeared over thousands of years ago and evolved into the present form that we have today. He also gives detailed explanation on interpreting the historical stories of the bible in the characters and remove doubts that this is just an overly subjective reading of the characters.
Bible Stories Hidden In Chinese Characters is a tremendous resource for anyone interested in this very curious topic. The full version of the rest of this book is offered for free on Timothy’s “Science-Faith” website. There will be instructions on how to receive a password protected full version of the book there. Happy studies!!
