Before going to Japan I never even considered that there could be different sign language languages… In my ignorance I just assumed that there was just one sign language for all people. There are actually hundreds of different sign languages around the world. Here is a clip I shot while in Tokyo at a gospel choir outreach.
Anyways, I recently came across this YouTube page of the Japanese bible translated into sign language. From what I can tell, the complete books of Ruth and Jonah have been translated while the book of Genesis is a work in progress. The Japan Evangelical Association of the Deaf (日本ろう福音協会) is the organization making the videos which can be viewed at their YouTube channel here.
