My Heart For Japan
After I became a Christian I began seeking God’s purpose for my life. That is when I first heard about the huge needs of the 10/40 Window, that 95% of the worlds population who have not heard the gospel live there and only 1% of the worlds missionaries minister there.
Matthew 28:18-20 Matthew 24:14
Initially I felt indifferent about serving in world missions and thought if the Lord wanted me to go he would give me a calling. But I was challenged by the needs of 10/40 along with the Great Commission. Rather than waiting to be called I felt that God had already called me to “go therefore” and was further motivated by Matthew 24:14 which alludes to Christ’s return after the gospel is proclaimed in every nation. That night I decided I would pursue serving in world missions until I felt the Lord lead me elsewhere.
Japan is an amazing country and its people have a rich history and heritage. It is one of my deepest desires not to reach Japan with a western concept of Christianity but to see the truth of the gospel, which transcends cultural boundaries, come alive in the hearts of Japanese and their culture… and for the church in Japan, rooted in biblical truth with a love from the Holy Spirit, to express itself in a way relevant to Japanese culture for the glory of Jesus Christ and Father God in Japan and through out the rest of world.
