A Japanese veteran of World War II tell of his experience and the atrocities Japan participated. If you have ever spent any time in Asia it is not hard to miss the strong animossity Chinese and Korean people have towards Japanese people. It is just as strong as tensions between Blacks and Whites were (and still are for some) thirty years ago in the States. The Japanese empire of WWII committed genocide in which estimates of 30 million Chinese and Korean people (more than Hitler’s genocide) were killed and horrible test on civilians where performed as gruesome as cutting out unborn babies from a mothers womb to collect data on how long it would take the fetus to die.
Since WWII however, the Lord has done an amazing revival in Korea and China is currently experiencing one now. It seems much of Asia is experiencing great numbers of people come to faith in Jesus. But Japan’s Christian population remains at less than 1% and is considered by many to be one of the hardest place to do Christian ministry. It is my prayer that other Asian countries would be able to give the same forgiveness to Japanese people that Jesus has given them and even be an instrument of bringing the love and forgiveness of Christ to Japan.
It is mortifying to here this veteran’s experience recounting how he participated in torturing civilians… but I was moved to compassion as he concludes the video commenting on what a sin his past actions where. I pray that he would meet Jesus and know his forgiveness given by the cross
